Safe Haven Gardens: Early Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care
Safe Haven Gardens
Safe Haven Gardens offers the right balance between a small “homey environment” and one that promotes security, freedom, contentment and independence. The 16-bed unit has single and double rooms with private baths, a kitchen where residents can help with meals, a dining room, small and large areas for activities and socializing, and a beautiful courtyard for walking, gardening and enjoying the outdoors without unnecessary restrictions. Our staff is comprised of trained dementia specialists who have chosen this work because they love it, with a ratio of one staff person for every five residents. Personal belongings, plants, pleasant smells from the kitchen, music and familiar objects provide positive sensory stimulation, rekindle fond memories, and minimize disorientation and anxiety. Residents from the Safe Haven Gardens unit are also assured priority placement in the 41-bed Advanced Care unit if they require more advanced care.
