The Nonprofit Difference

As a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, you can expect us to be focused on the quality of care, not on a corporate mandate to make money. A cadre of volunteers and private fund raising enables us to offer extra activities to enhance the lives of our residents. Our Board is committed to ensuring that we remain true to our mission, respond to local needs and serve as an effective steward of our resources. As a not-for-profit organization, Steere House reinvests all resources into our missions. Resources are used not to benefit stockholders or increase company value, but to increase staffing, improve facilities, enhance services and, most importantly, ensure resident, family and staff satisfaction. As we acknowledge our 134th Annual Meeting this year, we encourage you to review our 2008 Annual Report by downloading a copy now: {{document:2008 Steere House Annual Report{{
Of course, the success of any nursing facility is measured by the care provided. Steere House has a long tradition of excellence in care and restoring individuals to optimum health. Our survey results, recorded with the Rhode Island Department of Health, give tribute to this tradition. We encourage you to contact the Rhode Island Department of Health for this information and, of course when you visit, these results are readily available for your review.
