The Steere House Employee Development Team (EDT) is a group of employees that organizes fundraising activities to support those programs or initiatives that help to improve the quality of residents' daily life.
The Team is active in developing in-house fundraising efforts, such as bake sales, gift basket raffles and other efforts to raise money to support specific resident needs. The Team is also responsible for such community efforts as the Steere House Walk. Each year, the group also organizes the Gifts From The Heart Employee Annual Fund, when employees can designate paycheck contributions for specified Steere House projects.
On Sunday, June 5th, Steere House held its 2011 5K Walk-A-Thon. The Walk toured neighborhood streets of Providence before returning to Steere House at 100 Borden Street for refreshments. Providence Mayor Angel Taveras, Walk Dignatary, delivered a Walkers' Welcome prior to the start. The Walk is one of the most significant fundraisers for EDT.
